There are many ways to open a window. When choosing the type of opening, you should consider the space where it will be installed.
The most common are:
Sliding windows: ideal for rooms with limited space. Their sashes slide on tracks within the window frame, moving left and right, so they don’t intrude into the room when opened.
Case and turn windows: this is the most common system. The window sash pivots vertically on its hinges.
Tilt and turn windows allow for two opening positions, depending on the handle’s position: one horizontal (like standard casement windows) that opens almost 180º, and another vertical, an upward opening of approximately 45º.
Pivot windows: these windows rotate around a central axis and are designed for installation in roofs and attics.
Fixed windows: these cannot be opened.
